About the Faculty of Education

Department of Education is an integral part of Dr. K.N. Modi University, Newai, Rajasthan. Department of Education was established in the year 2017. The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme has been designed with the aim to develop an understanding of teaching-learning process at secondary and senior-secondary level among student teachers. It focuses on enabling student-teachers to reflect critically on perspectives of education and integrate holistically the theory and practices to facilitate active engagement of learners for knowledge creation.

                                                             At present, the Department is running B.Ed. Prgramme. B.Ed. course is approved by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) respective regulatory body. The Department of Education offers the courses with an intake of 100 (Two Units) in B.Ed. Programme.

Program: Bachelor of Education Programme (B.Ed.) PO and CO

POs describe what students are expected to know or be able to do by the time of graduation from the programme. The aims and objectives of the teacher education are understand basic concepts and ideas of educational theory and build understanding and perspective on the nature of the learner, diversity and learning. For basic learning comprehend the role of the systems of governance and structural – functional provisions that support school education. Teacher education course develop understanding about teaching, pedagogy, school management and community involvement and build skills and abilities of communication, reflection, art, aesthetics, theatre, self-expression and ICT.

Programme Outcomes (POs) : 12

Educational  teaching Knowledge: Possess knowledge and comprehension of the core and basic knowledge associated with the profession for teachers, including   general sciences, mathematics; behavioral, social, and administrative perspective of educational learning.

Planning Abilities: Demonstrate effective planning abilities including time management, resource management, delegation skills and organizational skills. Develop and implement plans and organize work to meet deadlines with the knowledge of different aspects of life skills   .

Problem analysis: Utilize the principles of scientific enquiry, thinking analytically, clearly and critically, while solving problems and making decisions during daily practice. Find, analyze, evaluate and apply information systematically and shall make defensible decisions.

Modern tool usage: Learn, select, and apply appropriate methods and procedures, resources, and modern educational technology -related computing tools with an understanding of the limitations.

Leadership skills: Understand and consider the human reaction to change, motivation issues, leadership and team-building when planning changes required for fulfillment of practice, professional and societal responsibilities. Assume participatory roles as responsible teachers and citizens or leadership roles when appropriate to facilitate improvement in physical , mental health and well- being.

Professional Identity: Understand, analyze and communicate the value of their professional roles in society as  teacher , facilitator , counselor , psychologist , principal , educators, managers and employers

Educational values & Ethics: Honor personal values and apply ethical principles in professional and social contexts. Demonstrate behavior that recognizes cultural and personal variability in values, communication and lifestyles. Use ethical frameworks, fine arts , apply ethical principles while making decisions and take responsibility for the outcomes associated with the decisions making .

Adequate scientific information: Educational  information regarding basic principles and technology of education  and pedagogy ,  including  learning and teaching , understanding discipline , educational philosophy Early childhood and growing up ,  social perspective of education , understanding of self and community services .  They will also have hands on training of practical aspects of art & craft , community work , guidance  & counseling and micro skills of teaching and learning .

 Communication: Communicate effectively with the educational community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports, make effective presentations and documentation, and give and receive clear instructions.

The Education  and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal education , technology development in education , gender  safety and legal issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional educational teaching and learning practices

Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional educational solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change. Self- assess and use feedback effectively from others to identify learning needs and to satisfy these needs on an ongoing basis.
