Dr Kedar Nath Modi, 1922 – 2005, a leading industrialist and philanthropist of his time had a committed belief that ‘Education Builds Nation’ and it was this belief which had driven him to candle the light of professional and technical education with the starting of Dr K N Modi Science and Commerce College in his ancestral place at Modinagar, in Uttar Pradesh but located in the vicinity of Delhi, the capital city of our Country Always committed, passionate and also successful in all his professional and social endeavours, he started establishing educational institutions almost on a mission mode. The Foundation, now in the close vicinity of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations now administers more than 50 Courses to nearly half lakh of students in 26 campuses covering a total area of more than 200 acres of land in the states of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh Legacy of Dr K N Modi is being focussedly and vigorously pursued forward by his
illustrious son Dr D K Modi, a Chemical Engineer with education in Economics and Management – both in India as well as in UK. He has been able to develop the processes and also create the conducive ambience for unrivalled learning, self-development and career building competencies and skills amongst the young students seeking admissions to the institutions managed by his Foundation. Dr D K Modi, President of the Foundation has established, in the last one decade alone, One Business School, One Pharmacy College, One BEd College, Two Global schools, three engineering colleges, three PG colleges and Four K-12 Schools.. Foundation has also started a Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, where the Teaching – Learning process is modelled on Gurukul Pattern and the Degrees of Acharya and Shastri are awarded – first of its kind in the country. Number of Dharamshalas, Hospitals, and Exclusive School for girls are the other Flagship endeavours of the Foundation. Dedicated Ophthalmic Research Centre where close to Two lakh cataract surgeries have so far been successfully performed besides adopting several villages to make their population free from cataract besides supporting NationaL Society for Prevention of Blindness are the committed and socially responsible activities of the Foundation.
